Ndabeni at a glance

N'dabeni, also known as Ndabeni Industria, is a centrally positioned industrial node in Cape Town. It serves as a nexus point between Cape Town Central, the Atlantic Seaboard, and the Northern and Southern Suburbs. With its excellent connectivity, proximity to major arterial routes, and a diverse range of industries, N'dabeni has become a key industrial hub in the region.

Location:

N'dabeni is located approximately 6 km east of Cape Town City Centre, south of the Voortrekker Road corridor. It shares borders with Pinelands to the southeast and Maitland to the north. The strategic positioning of N'dabeni provides convenient access to various parts of Cape Town, including the CBD, the harbour, and major industrial areas such as Paarden Eiland, Epping, and Montague Gardens.  Berkley Road runs parallel to Voortrekker Road and, with a new bridge to be built at the bottom of Berkley Road, will increase access directly into Salt River and Observatory.

Infrastructure:

The infrastructure in N'dabeni is well-maintained, making it an attractive location for businesses. The roads in the area are in good condition, and the industrial node is serviced by a railway station, enhancing transportation options for both goods and employees. In terms of healthcare facilities, N'dabeni benefits from the presence of several hospitals in close proximity, including Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, and The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.

Industries and Amenities:

N'dabeni is home to a diverse range of industries, with a focus on textile and clothing manufacturing, as well as the food industry. Prominent companies operating in the area include Tiger Brands, Superior Packaging, Nampak, Savati, Barrs Pharmaceuticals, Beacon Sweets and Chocolate Pty, Nestle Purina Petcare, Albany Bakery, Jungle Oats, and Alpen Foods. Shopping centres such as Howard Centre in Pinelands and Canal Walk in Century City provide convenient amenities for residents and businesses in N'dabeni.

The Amazon development currently being constructed will ensure additional feet and infrastructure development that will benefit the N'dabeni node as a whole.

Overall, N'dabeni's central location, excellent infrastructure, and proximity to key industrial and commercial areas make it a desirable hub for businesses in Cape Town.
